V.P. October 2, 2024. My father moved into Eastern Star Home. The location was good and it's very homey. It has care like a nursing home, but it doesn't look like a nursing home. His room looks more like an apartment. I brought all of his stuff, and then they provided a hospital bed. You could decorate it and you didn't have to use their furniture, so it doesn't look like a hospital room. He's not able to do a lot, but every time I go visit him, they get him out of his wheelchair and he's sitting in his recliner. The door is always open. He's always clean. In the other places I've had him, he would have a dirty shirt on but here he's never had a dirty shirt on. He doesn't want to participate in anything, but they take him outside. He loves the outside, so for his level, it's working well for him. He used to fall all the time at his last facility, and he's only fallen one time here. It is just so much better than where he was before. The physical condition is kind of dated, but it's very clean. They clean the bathrooms every day. It's way less expensive than a lot of the other places I looked at.
